Summer at Milkovich Middle School

All students registering for the enrichment activities must participate in the summer academic offerings, this means staying for the whole day 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Registration is required for all programs.

APEX 
Credit and grade recovery for students in grades 6-8
Ages 11-13 
Current 6-8 grade students 

1,000 TIES
Boys Only. 1000 ties will enhance the quality of life for youth by teaching them skills they can use for a lifetime. With the help of men from the community, students in grades six through eight in Maple Heights will learn the skills. They will develop their confidence to interview, network, and break the cycle of generational poverty, starting with something as simple as a tie.

Camp Invention
A confidence-boosting STEM summer camp where young people will build creative inventions and lasting friendships. Camps will offer new and exciting hands-on activities led by qualified local educators.

Esports
Campers will work on their gaming skills while enhancing their socialization and verbal skills in two-player mode.

Summer  Book Club 
Students will be able to choose from a variety of books to focus on their reading for this camp. Students will complete a book study along with arts and crafts that go along with the book. This will allow students to take a deep dive into the book. Students will be able to focus on the books of their choice.

Branding
Campers will make various items and then learn to market those items to sell at one of the community events at Maple Heights City Schools over the summer. First week-shirts. Second week-hats. Third week-socks. Fourth week-cup.

I AM BELLA
I AM BELLA is a self-esteem program designed to enable girls in grades 6 through eight to live in a vibrant future by restoring hope, dignity, and self-confidence. The summer program is conducted within a four-week timeframe and consists of various lecture and interpersonal activities that are fun, creative, and educational. The social and emotional components of the program relate to everyday life situations and will help today’s youth better adapt to and succeed in our ever-changing society.

Boys Intramural & Girls Intramural Camp
Boys and girls will have the opportunity to explore various sports.
Current 6-8 grade students 

Coding
Students will have a basic introduction to coding that covers a basic introduction to programming principles. Students will have an opportunity to write and test their own code.
